Lately I have had issues with first one then a second spark plug popping out. On the first, the shop needed to bore out the plug hole and insert a heli-coil. That worked well and $450.00 later we were on the road.
Now a second one have ejected. Is this a common problem with these engines? I have been around but never heard about this issue.
I was checking to see if this could be solved with JB Weld or do the heli-coil again.
Thanks for eventual feedback.

Re: Ejected Spark Pug
This is the first I’ve heard of that on the 3.0 Duratech. I don’t think JB Weld will hold up for that repair. A Helicoil is the best repair
Drove an 06 LTD FWD from July 08 to August 10, moved on to a 2011 Flex

Thanks for reply. JB Weld is a temporarily Hillbilly fix.
I got the tools, and inserted an heli coil. Engine runs fine, but I have an engine check light on that tells me that “cylinder 6 misfire on start up and bank 2 lean”. Cylinder 6 is the one that I fixed.
I installed a new spark plug, new coil pack. The hunt for the solution continues ...
