I was wondering does anyone know what brand of tires did the Freestyle come with from the factory.

Thanks

The original equipment for the 17-inch tire is the Continental ContiTouringContact CT95. The original equipment for the 18-inch tire is the Pirelli P6 Four Seasons

I need to decide if I want to switch to Continental or stick with the Cooper CS3 tires that I have had for two years need to replace them by the end of the year.

Just concerned about the ride of the Continental tire ride on the hard side.

Lots of places on the internet that sell your choices of tires. Read the reviews for the tires. Some will hate, others will be shills for the retailer, see what the others say about traction in wet/snow, real tread wear vs stated tread wear, lastly, trouble if any with weather checking when exposed to UV sunlight. Some tire side walls are weather checked way before the tread is gone.

My brother has Michelin Defender T+H, 80,000 miles tire, on his freestyle, I thought the ride was harsh, but no idea what he runs for tire pressure. I noticed his tires side walls are badly weather checked with lots of tread left. Vehicle is garaged at night, but sits out in the sun all day at work. Ive had weather checking on Goodyear Fuel Max, and Authority tires. Trying 303 rubber protector on the side walls, of the new Authority tires, too early to tell if it will help.

I ran General Altimax RT43s on my 2006 with 17" wheels for about 75K and I put another set on just last fall (I should have rotated them more often). I am very happy with the handling wet, dry and in snow. Decent ride. Best price I found was at Walmart of all places. Tires, install, valve stems, disposal of old one plus road hazardand lifetime rotations and balancing came to just under $475.00.

I decided on going with Cooper CS5 Grand touring (80,000) all season reviews are excellent a little better then the CS3.

2007 SEL AWD Ive got Goodyear Authority Advantage 215-60-17 70,000 mile warranty, 7000 miles on them. On wet streets, I can spin the front tires when taking off fast. Not impressed with the traction on the wet, stopping or going. They did ok in an inch or 2 of snow. I feel I could of made a better buying decision, than just the low price at Walmart. $83 each out the door with lifetime balance

Update: Goodyear Authority Advantage 13k miles? all 4 are weather checked on the side wall, one tire is weather checked with a deep crack, to where Walmart rep looked at it and said he could replace it with whatever Goodyear tire replaced the Advantages line. Dont want one new tire put on. Dont ever want Goodyear tires again if they weather check so badly, that '303' brand UV protectant didnt keep the side walls from checkering.
