2005 Freestyle Limited CVT slipping or engine problem

Post by eakassel » Mon Oct 15, 2018 6:44 pm

Hey, I have a 2005 Freestyle. At idle it seems to act a little choked, like rough idle but doesn't die or rpm vary much. While driving, it seems to either have transmission slip or power problem unless I accelerate rapidily and keep it above 3000 rpm. It jerks as it's accelerates up a hill or at low speeds, sometimes it is as if the power cuts off completely and comes back. Any ideas? Thanks!

How many miles on it? Have you checked for error codes?

Maybe start by doing a throttle body cleaning and see if that helps. It's an easy cheap way to rule that out. Search the forum for symptoms of throttle body issues.
