Removing interior car seat covers fo clean

Post by hookena72 » Tue Sep 25, 2018 6:37 pm

I have been meaning to do a complete in and out car detailing and I wanted to know if anyone can point me in the direction of a DIY video as to how to remove all my seat covers so I can throw them in the wash so to avoid the material and cushions from smelling cause they didn't dry properly.

This may help. viewtopic.php?t=4011#p27803

You didnt say if you have cloth, (I would guess), or leather. These seat covers are not meant to be washed, maybe not even color fast. If they got real wet, the mold, mildew that stinks may be in the foam under the cover also. Maybe put un-wrapped bars of Irish spring soap or other powerful smelling bar soap around under the seats, etc. to try to let the 2 smells battle it out. Fabreeze might help. Look up how people recommend to get wet dog smell out of carpet or furniture, it might help your alien smell. Watch out for remedies that would stain these easy to stain seats.

There are lots of Freestyles in salvage yards, I swapped the cloth seats in my Flex for leather for $500
Drove an 06 LTD FWD from July 08 to August 10, moved on to a 2011 Flex
