Hose to nowhere

Post by Bajensen » Thu Aug 02, 2018 4:27 pm

I was recently removing my air intake (2005 Freestyle) and noticed a rubber hose, about ⅜" in diameter and maybe 16" long with a sharp curve on the end and a plastic attachment clip. It looks to originate on the top portion of the transmission. The thing is I'm not sure where it's supposed to go. It looks to be a possible blow off tube but I'm really not sure. Can someone give me some guidance?

I believe you are describing the transmission vent tube.

Thanks, Dan from Sterling. Does the hose need to go anywhere or is it for the transmission to vent into the atmosphere?

Just vent to air. Was mounted up off hose on throttle body from factory.
