Leaking sunroof?

Post by PBblaster83 » Wed Jul 04, 2018 9:51 am

I bought this Freestyle awhile back and so far it's just been sitting until I can get to figuring out what's going on with the transmission. So that being said, I've noticed that the windows fog up and the spare tire well gets damp. I don't know for sure if it's the sunroof leaking. I went out this morning to turn it over like I do occasionally, not surprisingly the battery was low, the dash was saying "Oil Life 0% Change Oil."

So two questions:
1) Common places for leaks?
2) How could the oil be bad?

Thanks!

The OLM uses time/mileage to determine when to change. If you don’t drive it it will go on time.

Ok so the Oil Life is just a reminder to change the oil?

Your issue could be a leaky sunroof. My windows don't fog up, but I don't have a sunroof. However, after sitting still in a rain storm, water drips out of the rear wheel wells afterwards. The only place I can think of that mine might be coming from is under the roof racks somehow.

Yes, the oil message is just a reminder. Follow this to reset it: https://seventrumpet.com/2005-2007-ford ... ght-reset/

I don't have a sunroof either but I remember reading on here way back that if you leave the car parked with the nose up (such as on a hill) that water can collect at the rear of the sunroof where the roof hikes up causing a leak.

Sunroof drain lines or roof rack attachment serts are likley the cause. Search the forum there are a number of threads on both.
