Radio resetting on my '06 Freestyle

Post by Stangyog » Mon May 21, 2018 2:23 pm

The radio started resetting on my '06 Freestyle. Seems to have no real ryme or reason to it. Usually when the car sits for a while. I'll come out to it and the clock has been reset among with all the other settings. But it has also done it while driving down the road. I cleaned the battery terminals but that did not help. Any advise would be great!

2005 SEL AWD

Its seems that the radio is loosing its internal memory setting, I would say the radio
needs to be replaced. I assume that this is the factory radio your talking about.

If this is the case check on EBAY I replaced mine last year, I had an issue with my CD player skipping.

FYI - If you replace you original radio try to get one manufactured after 2005 ford had issues with
CD skipping and BAD DISK errors on the early radios.

I would check (and process with a spray for electrical contacts) the connector of radio. And also I would check the fuse F2.11 in the Smart Junction Box.It is possible that this fuse feeds the memory of radio.
