Maybe about a couple weeks ago My wife started getting failsafe mode when she started up her 2005 freestyle and it seemed as if it was loosing power. Shortly after that the check engine light came on. I went to Autozone to have it read. It came back with error codes P0303(cylinder 3 misfire detected), P061B(internal control module torque calculation performance) and P2106(throttle actuator control system- forced limited power). I’ve changed all the plugs and coil packs within the last two years. It’s closing in to close to 250,000 miles. What are some other causes I need to check out.
cylinder 3 could be a clue as it is closest to the EGR and any associated problems with the EGR itself or the back flow/clogging of the catalytic converter. You did not have any associated EGR codes with your misfire code so that's good. Since you have replaced plugs and coils before, maybe try switching coil number 3 to a different cylinder and see if the misfire code moves with it or stays on number 3. That could help give you direction for next steps. A clogged cat will certainly cause a noticeable loss of power.
Thanks I’ll try that
Just a update it turned out to be the throttle body was sticking. Replaced and no further issue.
