Flush heater core

Post by Dallasboycows » Mon Jul 17, 2017 9:55 am

I have seen videos where u put clear tubing on the inlet and outlet for the heater core and flush. What size is the inlet and outlet. I measured the inner diameter of the hose and got 3/4 But our mechanic and many places say 5/8. The hose is expensive so I wanna make sure and get the right size. Is the inlet and outlet 2 sizes 3/4 and 5/8 because when I looked up the core on a parts site that's what it said.

You could buy a few feet of both sizes, but just buy heater hose from an auto parts store. They usually sell it in bulk and it's cheap, like $1-2 per foot.

You don't need clear hose since if you put one end into a pail you'll know when it's running clear.

Since it is only temporary, a solid fit is not needed IMO. I would buy 3/4".

Ok. One last question. On my water pump the impeller spins freely. Is that normal. I figured it would not spin because it connects to camshaft I thought? Is it broke?
