DIY maintenance manual

Post by JimMc » Sat May 06, 2017 6:04 pm

I recently purchased a 2005 Freestyle with 87000 miles on it. I understand that there is no Haynes/Chiltons manual for the Freestyle. Can anyone recommend an alternative manual? I do some of my own maintenance and like to be knowledgeable on what my mechanic is doing. I do use the internet and Youtube, they are both great tools, but I also like to still browse/review a book.

You might look for a shop manual on e-bay.

Honestly, these are such well built vehicles, you won't come across anything you would be unfamiliar with for the most part. Just stick to your DIY schedule you always use.

Thanks for your comments. I am glad to hear that these are well built vehicles and will probably pick up something on eBay. I am very happy with my purchase thus far. Our first family long road trip in our Freestyle is next month.

Keep an eye on Ebay (as mentioned). I just bought the 3 volume factory service manual for $70 last week. There are plenty of ones for $100+, but if you're patient you will find one for less.
