Tire Rotation on AWD 2005 Freestyle?

Post by Scotty17 » Wed May 03, 2017 9:48 am

2005 AWD SEL

I was wondering if Tire Rotation is needed a AWD Freestyle, I can understand this on FWD or old school rear wheel.

Thanks

Tire rotations are needed on all vehicles.

Also agreeing to rotate. Unless you have a vehicle with staggered tires, you need to rotate regardless of drivetrain.

Only if you want the tires to last and to wear evenly.

Ah good point! Technically you don't *need* to rotate the tires, it's not like the wheels will fall off if you don't

I’m no pro but I believe I understand your thinking on the question, BUT that assumes everything from alignment to driving habits are perfect.
Alignment essentially, IMO is intended to account for the differences and spread out the effects equally over time. But I’m just a dude who knows nothing but I think that thought process makes sense

And one more complication ......
The most important tires on a 4 wheel vehicle from a safety stand point are the REAR TIRES.
You have some control over the front wheels by means of the Steering Wheel. The rear wheels are reliant almost solely on the tire grip. All Wheel Drive and Traction Control help but do not have all the answers.
