Rear Step Pad - Remove and Reinstall

2005 SEL

I am looking to remove the rear step pad is special why to remove it without damaging it or
the bumper, also once removed anything I need to know about reinstalling back.

It just has tabs and slots along the front and back edges evenly spaced. I think if you pull aft and up on the aft edge you'll get it off. I think I broke a tab or two on mine, but it stays on there just fine. It's kinda a pain to put back on due to being awkward.

I have removed mine and installed it several times and have never broken a tab. Lie on your back under neath your bumper and you'll see a series of tabs (towards the front of the pad) that hold the step pad "down" on the bumper. release each one, and lift that front part of the bumper pad up. Once released it pulls straight towards you.

Install is the opposite.

Just picked up " Wipe New" product over the weekend amazing results in restoring the Rear Step Pad and Roof Trim to like new conduction.
