Oil life % display
How do you get the oil life % display to reset and have it work as it should. Its causing no problems i just like things to work as they should.
Re: Oil life % display
What model to you have? SE? SEL? The procedure is different for each.

Re: Oil life % display
I followed the instructions as indicated in the owners manual and that did not do it. Im a small engine mechanic and my electrical skills are good. Im telling you this to let you know some of my background. You have to explain things very plain because we don't always know how mechanical someone else is

The one in the book didn't work for me either. I worked out how to do it but wrote it in my book. I can look at it when I get home tonight and then post it.
It is similar to the book but enough different that even my mechanic can't do it.

We used to have an SEL. echojohnny is right that the manual procedure is not quite right. You will find the procedure I worked out on ours here:

Yep, that is it.
The trick is to release the reset button between steps 4 and 5. It seems unnatural but that is it. Also don't wait too long, the dang thing times out if you wait.
