Wheel Sizes

Post by Woodsman » Tue Oct 01, 2019 6:26 am

Ordered a set of studded snows. Going to throw some plain steelies on. Just need help with the size.

Found these:
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/vsw- ... /overview/

Wheel Diameter:17 in.
Wheel Width (in):6.500 in.
Wheel Bolt Pattern (app):5 x 114.3mm
5 x 4 1/2 in.
Wheel Material:Steel
TPMS Sensor Compatible:Yes
TPMS Sensor Mounting Style:Valve stem mount
Primary Wheel Color:Black
Wheel Finish:Gloss
Manufacturers Wheel Series:Vision Wheel SW60 Series
Offset:+40.00mm
Backspacing (in):5.330 in.
Wheel Construction:2-piece
Beadlock Included:No
Beadlock Functional:No
Lug Nut Seat Style:Conical seat - 60 degree
Hub Centric Ring Compatible:No
Center Bore Diameter (in):2.642 in.
Center Bore Diameter (mm):67.10mm

The numbers all line up just fine, except the offset. These are +40.00mm and the car has +52.00mm. Comes out to half an inch. That should be just fine, right?

The smaller offset might interfere with the brakes.

Duly noted.

I did a search on Tire Rack, and they sell rims with 40mm offset. So...I'm guessing I'll be ok?

Most any machine shop can make spacers for you as long as the lug bolts are long enough.
It might also have issues with clearance on turns.

Welp, I ordered the rims. After I did, someone mentioned the fact of being hub centric. And it looks like the Freestyle is hub centric. I may have to run centric rings to fix the issue.
