How to replace a clockspring.
The ford dealer is very expensive. So, I am determined to replace the clockspring myself. I bought the part on ebay, could anyone share a diy on how to "replace steering wheel clockspring?" Thank you.

Ok, so its not a later one made for India. I dont know of a Freestyle specific vid or write-up. Here is a generic one, disconnect the battery first.

If it looks too different inside, watch out for the ignition cylinder clip location, maybe a local repair shop can install it for less than the dealer.

The hardest part of the job is releasing the air bag from the wheel. It has a big metal hoop-type clip you have to depress. Actually getting it to catch and hold on reassembly is harder than getting it to release. You really need a service manual to consult before you do this.

Thank you, it looks really easy to do but in reality I am hitting some obstacles at the moment.ds32928 wrote: ↑Sat May 18, 2019 5:20 pmOk, so its not a later one made for India. I dont know of a Freestyle specific vid or write-up. Here is a generic one, disconnect the battery first.

Thank you Jas88, I watched a youtube video that was somehow similar to the freestyle, but I have to agree with you that I need a manual to look at before I even go deeper.jas88 wrote: ↑Mon May 20, 2019 5:57 amThe hardest part of the job is releasing the air bag from the wheel.
