Getting close to 200,000 mile mark...

Post by Stangyog » Mon Dec 17, 2018 1:01 pm

Hi all, my 2006 is getting close to 200,000 miles and I was wondering what issues there are with the engine. A lot of talk on here about the cvt, but not much about this. I know it's a pretty solid engine, just want to be up on the possible issues.

Thanks!

As far as I'm aware there is no engine issues to speak of, on my moms (I'm 15 lol) 06 five hundred awd that has 209,000 miles the only engine related repairs ive had to do was a water pump, drive belt, spark plugs and valve cover gaskets all mostly easy stuff so as long as you keep up on mantaince spark plugs, coolant, oil etc you should be fine as long as you change the transmission fluid If you need any info on how to change transmission fluid on the cft30 send me a reply

Thanks for the reply. I know about the cvt and have changed both filters and fluid. I'm actually due for another high pressure filter and fluid change in the spring.

170K second owner since 120K.

All orginal, only repairs its had are:

Water pump
Control arm bushings

I am about to put camcover gaskets and an oil pan gasket on it.

Other than that, tires, brakes, shocks, struts and maintenance.
