Gear case hose lines

Post by Eagle1 » Thu May 09, 2019 2:13 pm

I have a 2005 Ford Freestyle- V6- I have a hose line looks like it’s coming off of the Gear box - or Transmission-it’s connected to a metal hose coming of the housing but I can’t figure out where it goes? Anysuugestions- it’s on the Driver side below the Heater core lines. Thanks

vent hose for transmission. Was clipped onto the throttle body originally.

It's common for this hose to deteriorate over time. It connects to a metal vent pipe on the transmission directly below the EGR valve, and runs up to the throttle body where it clips on to another hose and just makes a "U" bend and is left open.

I replaced the U-Bend with a small section of stainless tubing bent to replicate the original bend, and replaced the hose with the same size fuel hose from the local auto parts.
