Here's a cheap fix from a Ford Service Tech.

Remove the scroll valve & spring then reassemble it backwards. Put the scroll valve in first and then the spring. That will force the compressor to be a full displacement all the time so its working at max capacity. You'll have cold air at idle and while at speed. I did this about a 3 years ago and the ac is working just fine. Over 220,000 on this Freestyle. I did replace the scroll valve about 8 years ago but, when it started blowing warm at idle again, I decided to give this trick a try. Haven't had a problem since.

I clean the AC coil which helps a lot I do this ever spring make a big difference on the AC temp. This works great and no need to rinse it off just give in an hour or two to dry.

Replaced this on mine last night, recharged AC and finally blows cold again! Simply amazing.
