Followed Jack's initial instructions and after done the whine sound got worse (I must've gotten more air in the system). So followed Jack's second instructions on getting the air out (kept repeating until I saw no more bubbles) and now things are as good as new--no more whine.

I recently installed new cv axles and when testing the car I noticed a whining noise when turning. I thought it was from the new cv axles. After looking closer I found the problem to be low fluid when car warmed up. I added about 2oz max and problem solved. No more whining, runs great. I will flush later this week.

You can also use power steering fluid with conditioner which will seal up and leaks. I had the same issue with leaking fluid and that was the cheapest car fix I ever ran into
