Ok so I’ve been looking for a new set of projection headlight assembly for my 05 freestyle limited awd and can’t find any but I did happen to find and order a set that goes to an 04 to 08 f150 same assembly same shape most of the mounts look like they will line up but the f150 assembly looks just a tad bit bigger! has anyone tried this before? What problems did you run into? Or am I wasting my time? Any answers will be helpful

Hi Dyladog1890,

I happen to have both a Freestyle and that generation of F150.

Totally different headlight units, no way it will work.

Sorry,

Brad

Maybe I have misunderstood what you are attempting to do.

My understanding of what you stated above is that you are hoping to slide the entire headlight assembly from a 2004-2008 F150 into the headlight opening on a 2004-2006 Freestyle, correct?

If that is your goal, it will not work. As you stated, the assembles are a different size, additionally, the rake, depth, and, for example, body contours around the front fenders are different... yes, there is a 'Ford Truck' family resemblance, but it isn't a plug and play swap.

Define "close".

No.. man... no. Sorry. Where the similarities stop is that they are both somewhat "rectangular" in that they have four sides.
