Help with ABS Issue C1222 2007 Ford Freestyle

Post by buttons276 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 2:39 pm

Ok I am working on a 2007 Ford Freestyle AWD. It came to me after someone had replaced the right rear hub and left the metal ring inside and damaged the speed sensor. To make a long story short between then and now I have put two hub/bearings on it and three speed sensors. The third and one on it now was a motorcraft from ford. It has the code c1222 in it. What it will do as you drive looking at abs data starting at about 10 mph the right rear wheel starts leading slightly lower than the other wheels...maybe 1 mph. As your speed increases the difference increases until around 55 mph it is about 5 mph off. At that point it will set the code. ABS, traction control, and airbag light comes on. The speedo also stops working. When you cut the car off everything resets to normal until you drive it up to speed again and everything repeats. All the tires are the same. Ive moved them all around atleast twice and the problem stays at the right rear wheel. I'm lost and don't know where else to go. Oh and all the fuses are good. Any ideas

Are you sure you have the correct hub bearing? What happens if you switch the left and right rear hub bearings?

Left what metal ring inside? I replaced the RR hub on ours years ago. I don't recall any metal ring...If I remember correctly, it was 4 bolts and that was that. Albeit ours is a FWD, but it uses the same hub as the AWD.

Are you certain you aren't just over tightening the axle bolt?
