Time with my Freestyle drawing to a close..

Post by mike9476 » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:07 am

Well, I recently purchased a replacement for my trusty Freestyle and it is currently up for sale. I have been happy with the car and have no concerns with it failing anytime soon, but I have been wanting to get something with bluetooth, a backup camera, and a bit better towing capabilities to allow me to get a slightly larger popup camper. I also didn't want to loose too much fuel economy either. I just recently found a 2011 Town and Country that fits the bill and was priced where I was comfortable spending the money so I picked it up last Friday.

The Freestyle has been a very dependable vehicle and I'm sure the next owner will enjoy it too. As many on here have complained, trade-in values are terrible(I was offered only $4500) so I am trying to get a bit more by selling it myself.

Sold the freestyle today. Only took 2 weeks to sell, and Got $1k more than I was offered in trade... from another local car dealer that called on the craigslist ad  . So yes trade-in is low on these cars, but you can do better if you sell it yourself. Good luck to all and hope your Freestyles continue to provide good service!

That's encouraging. However, I hope to get about another 2 years out of our FS. By then it will be ten years old and have roughly 150K on it. We are on our second CVT so hopefully this is possible.

263,000 on the original CVT so far. (knocks on wood). Going to change the fluid and high pressure filter sooner rather than later. Last time I had it changed was when I bought it at 150,000. Kinda doubt it had been changed before but it was a fleet vehicle, so there is a chance that at least the fluid was drained/refilled at least once before, but unlikely in my opinion.
