We've updated our reliability stats for the Freestyle to include owner experiences through June 30, 2014 (making them about 14 months ahead of some others).

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2007 Freestyle: 47, low
2006 Freestyle: 74, moderate
2005 Freestyle: 63, moderate

We have two additional statistics, "Nada-odds" and "Lemon-odds", to indicate the percentage of cars with no repairs in the past year and those that required 3+ trips to the repair shop:

2007 Freestyle: 67, < 1
2006 Freestyle: 55, 11
2005 Freestyle: 62, 3

Next updates in November and in February. The more owners participate, the more comprehensive and precise these will be.

These results won't fare well at the next Freestyle haters Club with africa_fs_07 at the helm.

Then start an argument with him about who's going to go get help. A lot of guys will start crying. That's why it makes you feel good when you tell them it was just a joke"

197,360 miles on my 05, starting to leak oil around the head gaskets and valve cover gaskets, replaced scroll valve twice, changed all my fluids and filters myself when car had 25K miles, no problems with drive train or suspension. Needed to add a quart of CVT fluid when it went into limp mode around 125K miles.

Why are you studying reliability for a model that ceased production in 2007?

So, just found this thread.
I have an 06 Freestyle (traded in my 05 Freestyle after a year).
I'm the original owner and now I've got 188200 miles on it. It has been my daily driver and used for everything. I can't say enough good things about the car. I just recently got a new car (2013 Taurus SHO with 31000 miles) to reduce the mileage use of the Freestyle. I DID NOT trade it in although the dealer asked several times.
I've had regular service on it, including CVT. The biggest repair has been the motor mount because the hard rubber "thingy" disintegrated. It does seem to go through tires but I did live on a curvy hill for most of the time. The first issue I had with both the 05 and 06 was the rear brakes. The calipers froze up and ate through the rotors. Happened on both of them. With the 05, the dealer told me it was my driving that caused it @ 8000 miles. Set him straight, that's for sure.
I've had the 06 for 10 years and have no complaints. Actually, I really wish I could get a new one!
