We do support Tapatalk, we just don't have the popup script enabled. So fire up Tapatalk and search for Freestyle.

I found this by searching on Google back when I started having some issues with my Freestyle. I lurked for a little while, but joined around the time my power steering went kaput.

As far as what I'd like to see on the site, I'm perfectly happy with how it is as long as it's kept up to date.

Google search for traction control light 2005 Ford Freestyle. Since that search I have searched this site numerous times for information shared by other Ford Freestyle contributors on different issues and even learning about my Freestyle.

So your traction is OK now, right before the snow arrives?

The only light on the dash is the TC light, stays on. The system check button shows AWD Data error. My 05 freestyle is a Limited with FWD. The traction control does work, I slid a bit and it engaged. My OBD II reader has no codes. I just bought that vehicle (end of october 107k miles)and the previous owner said he had no problems with the vehicle.

Upon start up I get a bit of surging, probably the throttle body which is still under warranty. I have 110k miles on it. So I am going to take it in to the dealership and have them hopefully replace the throttle body.

I did disconnect the battery overnight and reconnected it in the morning with no change with the TC light.

That's where I am with the TC light.

Thanks for the update. Our Freestyle started with a slipping TC - even on flat snow/mud covered surface. Ours is a 2WD yet both wheel should grip when the TC comes on. It did not. I say about the same time (around 70K) a humming noise started, a noise we could hear loud and clear particularly going downhill in "D". And it lasted till some 140K+ and the transmission collapsed to a hefty price.

So, if that noise comes on - check for extended insurance.

If you want to discuss specific problems, please start a new (on-topic) thread, thanks.
