Here's a couple of dumb questions...

Post by damonm » Thu Aug 11, 2011 8:05 am

Just bought an '05 Freestyle, and am having a helluva time trying to find the 3rd 12V AC plug; there's the one below the stereo, another on the LH side near the 3rd-row seat. Owner's manual says there's another in the center console, but I'll be dipped if I can find it. (of course, I've only had the thing 3 days...) Can anybody out there in FreestyleLand take pity on a noob and clue me in?
Also, in my search, I found a small rocker switch inside the front center console. Anybody know what this does?

Your 3rd outlet should be below the spare change slot in the center console. The rocker is not standard, it could be installed by previous owner. maybe to turn on/off 3rd outlet? Maybe for the rocket booster!

You might also notice in the center consul (between front seats) where the plug is, there is a little dip in the front material for the wire to come out of when you close the top of the consul.

.... and by the way, those aren't dumb questions at all. Apparantly you're reading the owners manual which is never a bad thing. It could be that the previous owner had installed the switch in place of the 3rd power outlet, since that particular outlet was live all the time, maybe it was for a mirror ball and spotlights or other mood lighting. :P

Congratulations on buying your Freestyle! I hope you get many happy miles out of it.

Actually, you nailed it! I talked to the former owner today, and he said it was for a neon lighting system he later took out.
He suggested I tell people it was for the ejector seat...
