Third Row RH CupHolders

Has anyone noticed the difference in RH rear side plastic filler panels on some vehicles? Some have cupholders and storage bins and some do not. It may be that cars with rear A/C do not have the cupholders?

I have a SEL with the rear AC and it only has cupholders on the right side of the third row and on the left is some kind of filler, no holders or storage. My guess there has to be something in there because it seems a total waste of space.

Now I have to go and check again with the AC on to see if indeed, there is something in there to be sure.

Correction: I should have said that the LEFT side has no cupholders or storage compartment. Sounds like it probably houses the components of the rear a/c.

Mine has no rear a/c and has cupholders and storage compartment on left side.
