What to look for when T Rex shopping?

Post by Gator417 »

Currently in the process of getting rid of my Freestyle and looking to upgrade. Besides the issues with the CVT, I really liked the Freestyle so I'm seriously considering a T Rex.
Is there anything to look for when test driving or shopping for these cars? I've heard the 6 spd is a little more robust than the CVT, but is there anything else that likes to give out more frequently?
Thank you in advance,

Water pump if it goes coolant gets in the oil, wheel bearing speed sensor, heating and cooling actuators are an issue, if the select output one goes you are looking at taking the entire dashboard out.

PS- They are already old cars, my advice will be to look at the Lincoln MKT is based on the same chasis, I know they are more expensive but you can find a good used one, and they are nicer cars

Thank you all for the replies. I've decided to go with something that can tow more than 2k, but maybe pick one of these gems up at another time.
