From Sync 6 Disc To OEM Touch Screen Nav?
From Sync 6 Disc To OEM Touch Screen Nav?
Picked up an 08 Taurus X Eddie Bauer edition today. There was a nearly identical 08 EB TX next to it on the lot that had JUST sold that had the OEM touch screen nav. Mine has the Microsoft Sync 6 Disc changer instead. Can the touch screen be swapped directly in for the 6 Disc unit, if so, anything to be aware of, such as needing to have the BCM programmed to accept it, steering wheel controls still work, etc? If not, any recommendations on a decent setup that won't break bank? I've been thinking about a Chinesium Android based head unit with touch screen so that I could always have up to date Google maps navigation and other apps, so if anyone's gone that route successfully without breaking the vehicle's security or anything, I'd be very much interested.

Re: From Sync 6 Disc To OEM Touch Screen Nav?
Flex is totally different, the touch screen is a separate part not part of the head unit.
