I'm just going to say this I just had to remove the alternator on my ford five hundred (sedan version of the freestyle) it was a pain but you don't need to drop the subframe if you need any tips on the alternator replacement send me a message it is possible to do at home

I would recommend a Duralast alternator from auto zone

Sounds like you are having someone very unskilled working on your car. They are using the "TAP" method of diagnostics...TAP= Try Another Part.
There is no substitute for proper diagnostics. These seems like a shotgun approach and Id recommend going elsewhere.

Got my car back today, and it starts!! Fingers crossed after all the work, new fuel pump and alternator!!! Thanks for the help

Great! I encourage you to ask friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, the mailman etc. for recommendations to find a new mechanic who is highly rated... just in case.

My ford 500 has 211,000 miles just saying from experience change the transmission fluid
