I'm just going to say this I just had to remove the alternator on my ford five hundred (sedan version of the freestyle) it was a pain but you don't need to drop the subframe if you need any tips on the alternator replacement send me a message it is possible to do at home
Just as a fyi my 500 has 210,000 miles

I would recommend a Duralast alternator from auto zone

Sounds like you are having someone very unskilled working on your car. They are using the "TAP" method of diagnostics...TAP= Try Another Part.

There is no substitute for proper diagnostics. These seems like a shotgun approach and Id recommend going elsewhere.

Great! I encourage you to ask friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, the mailman etc. for recommendations to find a new mechanic who is highly rated... just in case.
