Mine was changed at 140K something, just quit in the middle of a cross-section. Now, we're over 222K and smooth sailing.

Some 30k ahead us. Hours are running nice, a lttle more hum/sound from the exhaust, mileage fine. All good. Happy driving!

My 05 Freestyle has 177,500 and I am the second owner. I bought it 9 years ago with 36,000 on it. Been a great car but just got a 5,000 repair estimate, so I found a 2008 Taurus X with 164,000 for 4000 and now I have both. The 08 is in significantly better shape than my 05. Hopefully it works out ok.

Congrats with the Taurus!

Any immediate differences with them two cars? We too are the second owner of a Freestyle, an 07. With closer to 230,000 now, we have been looking for a replacement. Too bad they do not have a direct replacement for the Freestyle/Taurus X.

It’s almost the same once inside
I was driving a Freestyle when I first saw the Flex. My initial impression was it looked like the box a car comes in but it didn’t take long for me to like it. Try to get her in one for a ride, see if you can rent one for a weekend.

Thanks for the input. However, there is an Explorer out there too. We will see. For now, we are on a 2,000 mile roadtrip with the Freestyle and enjoying it.

I've recently come back from a road trip. Went through OK, TX, CO and NM. The car didnt have a single hiccup! I did however get a speeding ticket because I didnt notice the speed limit change from 75 in TX to 65 in CO. I got this car with 44k miles almost 22 months ago. I now have 65K miles. I changed the Trans fluid at 63K miles along with all filters. I have a feeling I will have this car for another 10 years minimum. I love it and I just paid it off :D

211,450.00 Im Now changing out Spark Plugs and Manifold Gaskets (upper and lowers). New Oil Filter and 5W 20 Oil. Added new T.R.R. and 4 Mounts. 21 mpg City/28 Hwy. No prob with CVT. Mine is a 2005 Freestyle Limited AWD. DVD, heated leather seats, everything still works great.

Hey, you might get 1-2 mpg increase after your mentioned changes. I did. It also feel that the engine runs easier, better.

06 SEL AWD inherited from my mom.

After college visits and trips, recently rolled over 80,000.
Wish Ford had done a better job with this vehicle. As a previous owner of second and third generation chrysler minivans, I really like the Freestyle. Just worried about the CVT and AWD systems, I've already cleaned out the drain channels from the sunroof twice, need to replace a bulb in the instrument display, and the paint on the hood, ugh.
