If you have done this on an FS with rear air/heat, where did you hang the electric heater valve that is for rear heat? It bolts to the front of the CVT, but I think I am going to have to make a bracket to attach it to the 6-speed.

OK so I did the wiring tonite and I think this could use some further explanation. I have a 2005 manual and the wire colors do not quite match up since my FS is 2007 and 500 is 2006. Mine is more like the wiring colors and plug descriptions on page 5 posted by xvert (the last 2 images). Here's the thing - every wire that you can find on the 500 plug that has a matching wire color on the FS, solder those together. So I did the following connections:

Dark Green -> Dark Green
Light Blue/Orange -> Light Blue/Orange
Light Blue/Yellow -> Light Blue/Yellow
The following 2 wires are twisted together, so if you have more than one black, this black refers to the one that is in a twisted pair with the white:
Black -> Black
White -> White

Now on mine, that left me with a Black and a Black/Light Blue on the 500 plug, and on the FS I had *two* Black/Light Blue. I have not seen anyone else mention this. However, I traced the harness on the FS and I found the 2 Black/Light Blue wires run into 1 wire up the line, so the are connected to the same thing.

On my 500 plug, I had *one* Black/Light Blue wire, and one Black wire. As Bill pointed out earlier, the Black wire doesn't hook up to anything, you can just pull it out of the harness and it is capped on the end.

So, I left that Black wire on the 500 plug unconnected, and then connected the 500 Black/Light Blue to one of the Black/Light Blue wires on the FS, and left the other Black/Light Blue disconnected. It doesn't matter which one you choose to connect and which one you leave disconnected as they go to the same place in the harness.

Anyway, I put the battery in and fired it up. It started and ran and had forward and reverse, so I am making good progress. I do have the ABS and TC lights on since, right now, I am running the FS PCM. I will deal with that later after I get it on the road. Right now, I have to deal with the snakes nest of heater and radiator hoses.

Looks like almost all interest in this subject has dried up and I am on my own.

So far my research has found that 2006 PCM is not compatible with 2007 cars, so that explains my no start condition with the 500 PCM in place.

I have tried to get my TCM reprogrammed with the FS VIN but no luck so far, it seems the VIN cannot be programmed separately into the TCM.

Investigation continues...

Thanks jas88 for your feed back.

As it turns out I messed up the flywheel (dummy!). When installing the transmission the turbine moved and I didn't notice it had moved (i dint completel the install till I lined it up again) So I had to remove everything. I then went to the salvage yard to remove anothe flywheel (had to drop the transmission at the salvage yard) when I compared my flywheel (the bent one) to the other one it was bent back towards the engine almost a inch.

Anyways I got home reinstalled it all correctly. And bam! It moved woohoo!

When I went back to the junk yard I also purchased (forme they original car) the abs module and the ignition switch module also the ECU. I ordered some keys from eBay. I Programed (my neighbor has a key Programer , Home Depot cut then for me no charge).

I now have it running and with no abs/ traction control light.

What year is your car and what year is the donor?

Over the weekend I confirmed that the 2006 500 PCM will work in my 2006 FS. I put the 500 PCM into my FS and held up the 500 key to my PATS antenna and the car fired right up.

So, I can confirm that 2006 500 PCM will work in a 2006 FS, but WILL NOT work in a 2007 FS.

Shoot!
I deleted the photos!

Mine is a 2005 FS.
I didn't look to see what the 500 was.

If u would have changed everything over to ur FS. So it can all have the same VID # . ECU,ignition modual ABS, would that have worked on ur 2007??

U just would of needed a programed Key.

Did u see the diagrams on page 5 that Mr. Xvert had posed a while ago.

On in one of the diagrams it does say black/blue.

Understand I have 2 FSs. I have a 2006 that is my DD and a 2007 that I am giving to my son/daughter-in-law. The 2007 has the donor 6-speed in it. The 2006 still has it's original CVT.

The 2006 500 PCM works in my 2006 DD but does not work in the 2007.

Did you see above where I said this?

Oh . My bad I just went back to read it.

Because you have the car there and the key to the car.
If u install the ECU. From the 500 will it work that way? And maybe the ignition switch/and ABS module?

(To clear the ABS and traction control u would of had to anyways)

Or is it the dashboard for ur 2007 that would be preventing it to work?

Is it possible to maybe change the dashboard??

Basically just Chang over everything?

Just a thought?

If this doesn't work then do u know what would work on the 2007?

Is it just that a 2006 500 won't work? But other years will?

Maybe go to the salvage yard and get a PCM from anothe year and install it to you 6 speed?

I have to have a 2007 ECU, ABS module, and TCM for the 2007 FS.

I probably missed it somewhere, so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. For the OP; why did you not just swap the engine, tranny, harness, ecu etc as acomplete unit in to your FS?

Donor car had CEL on and fuel delivery problems running - it's probably due to the wreck damage, but I did not want to take a chance. One issue at a time to deal with. Plus this was a test-run for when I have to do this to my own DD FS so wanted a trans swap.

Has anyone ever order eBay spark plugs and coils?

I'm planning to change them on my FS. Any recommendations?
