Re: Shifts hard in Reverse and Drive P0701 Wrench light

Could be mechatronic unit I tried one out of a wrecker transmission I got for some parts and when I installed it that’s what mine did. Really hard engagement but also in limp mode. With my original mechatronic. It would also go into limp mode until oil warmed all the way up then I could clear PO 942...

Re: CVT "helicopter" noise - input shaft specs

Hi I fixed mine a couple of years ago and can send you some sizes tomorrow if you want. I had a good input shaft that could be measured by guy I sent it to if he hasn’t installed it yet. Let me know I check this a few times a day. Jim in wintry (finally) BC

Re: Is it necessary to change the filter with CVT fluid change?

That’s what my filter looked like at 213000 kms. I also wrecked a torx head was able to just tack a nut on it then it spun off easy enough would suggest using a 3/8 drive torx socket(number 27) with a hammer impact wrench. They will almost always work. Some wratchets can also be hammered on while tu...

Re: Front Subframe Hole

I also had mine off when doing my transmissionrepair and other than the time and having to heat exhaust pipe connector bolts it went fairly well.

Re: Throttle body HELP

I bought a used but lifetime guaranteed TCM for two hundred US from transmissionelectricstore and got whole mechatronic unit. My car wouldn’t get out of limp mode until transmission oil got up to 180 degrees fit. I bought a Scan tool so I could read oil temp once it got that warm I could clear my co...

Re: Throttle body HELP

Hi sounds a bit like mine after fixing helicopter noise(input shaft needle bearing) ended up being mechatronic was not sending temperature data correctly to PCM which was putting it in limp mode until oil warmed up. Is your problem showing wrench light?

P0942 and TCM

Hello wondering if anyone has changed there TCM on the mechatronic unit and eliminated the 942 code. I can clear mine once the transmission warms up above 180 degrees F and sometimes it will stay off (the wrench light and associated limp mode) when I turn engine off and back on but not always. Bough...

Re: How common are the CVT issues?

Hi Jim here in Kamloops BC. I have a 07 2wd SE I bought six years ago with I think about 80000 Kms on it worked great for 3 and 3/4 years until 215000 kms then took out input shaft needle bearing. Fixed all that myself but can’t get it out of limp mode which appears to be really hard to diagnose. Wo...
