Here's another thread already started on this issue:

It is likely transmission related.

Re: Twin Turbo Conversion on my Taurus X AWD Eddie Bauer Edi

Easy? No, not by a long shot. There are a thousand little things that will make this hard, almost all of them related to packaging. You would have to swap the engine and transmission from the SHO as a unit. Dimensionally, they are unlikely to be the same as the T-Rex. What about the transfer case an...

Re: Vibration when I brake.....

If your traction control activates when you accelerate in the rain, either your tires are worn, or your tires are of a poor design, or you are simply accelerating too fast for conditions.

Re: Vibration when I brake.....

Your description is too vague to give accurate help. In wet weather, you seem to skid when? When you are accelerating or when you are braking? Your traction control light will not come one when you are braking, but your ABS active light will. If your wheels are slipping while you accelerate in the w...

Re: Outside Temperature Calibration

AFAIK, you can't calibrate the sensor. Buy I know that they are easy to replace. If they're not too expensive, you may just want to replace it.

Re: Broken rear coil springs

These guys are in New York, which is not too far from you: http://www.anzeengineering.com But you don't ask for "Taurus X springs." You shop for springs by size and spring rate (stiffness). Guarantee that if you give them the size (diameter and height) and spring rate that you want, they would sourc...

Re: Broken rear coil springs

Even if Ford runs out, coil springs are easy to find in lots of other places. Spring manufacturers have them in just about a limitless array of heights, widths, and stiffness.

Re: Tailgate side rubber bumpers

Finally figured it out. The nomenclature is simply: Wedge. The part number is 5F9Z-74404B04-AA. Rubber piece is not sold separately, it comes attached to the black plastic plate behind it.

Tailgate side rubber bumpers

I don't really know what to call them and I can't find them on a parts listing at Ford or at Tasca. When you open the lift gate, mounted on each side of the hatch opening, on the body, are rubber bumpers, one per side, about halfway up. they are molded rubber, kind of flimsy, and they fall out easil...

Re: Electronics issue

Keep us posted as to whether it is fixed. It's been a week and everything seems fine with the transmission. No repeat of the problem so far. That was probably a rush to judgment. Took a 5 hour road trip this weekend and although the original problem is certainly banished, I did notice that the tran...
