Re: rear lift back button does not work

If you're talking about the button on the outside of the car, underneath the handle above the license plate, then I would suspect the either the button has gone bad, or perhaps a wire that routes from the frame into the tailgate has an open.

Re: CVT Input Shaft

Just out of curiosity, since the Taurus X does not have a CVT, why is this thread in the T-Rex forum? Wouldn't it get more inputs and replies in the appropriate engine/transmission forum?

Just out of curiosity, why did you remove it? My daughter loves using it for her stuff.

Re: Replacing 2nd row bucket seats for 60/40 split bench

I've not done it so I can't answer how hard it is, but I can tell you that this is not an uncommon swap. Obviously the factory wants the two installations to be as similar as possible to save manufacturing costs.

Re: Middle Seat Questions

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the answer to both those questions is no. If you want to have 7 seats you may have to give up on those convenience features. I'm sure someone here with a 7-seater will chime in. We looked at 7-seaters before we bought our 6-seater and having those two features are...

Re: Driver Seating position

once you find it, lock it in with the buttons on the driver's side door panel. Note: The Key Fobs remember who has what setting. When I unlock the car with my keys, the seat goes to my setting. The same applies for my wife; here keys, her settings. Those settings never work right on my T-Rex. My wi...

Re: Looking at a 2008 Taurus X tonight -anything I should

For warranty purposes, Ford counts three years from when the vehicle was first put into service. I don't know what "08 sold mid-09" means, since a Ford dealer would normally have stopped selling 08 cars before the end of 08.

Yes, MY 2008 TX does exactly the same thing. Annoying.

Re: Looking at a 2008 Taurus X tonight -anything I should

Do a normal road test try to be very sensitive to what you are hearing and feeling. There aren't too many known mechanical problem areas. If it's equipped with seat heaters, check to see if they work. They fail all the time and they are expensive to get repaired unless you do it yourself. They are a...

Re: P2135 Throttle position sensor OBD II code

First, if you need a new TB, don't buy it from the dealer. Get it from Southwest Ford or Tasca Ford on-line. It will be less expensive. Second, it would be unusual for the TPS to be inseparable from the TB. Are you sure it can't be replaced separately? Does your TRex have high mileage? Is there a ch...

Re: External temperature sensor

Yes, there is. There is a button on the climate control panel labeled EXT. Push it and the exterior temp will be displayed. It's that way on my Limited. I know the climate control systems on the SEL and Limited are not identical, but you may still have the EXT button?

Re: Taurus X door code

Take the car to a dealer. They will give you the door code. They aren't going to do it over the phone.
