Re: Power liftgate problem in a 2008 Taurus X

Assume that the noise is coming from the gearbox down at the base of the powered strut?

Re: Airbag code 44, where is the sensor on tx 2008?

I have no idea really, but I would assume the signal comes from one of the airbag modules. The question is: which side?

Re: Swapped bad engine now no vrooom! Help!

No injector pulses could be a bad sensor. It could be other things too. I assume you have reset the codes and these are the ones that are still coming back? Sensors are generally pretty cheap so throwing a new one on is a good troubleshooting step.

Re: Swapped bad engine now no vrooom! Help!

Don't think too many on here have done an engine swap on a T'Rex, nor have I. If you have no spark and no fuel, then all signs point to a computer issue, don't they? Do you have a wiring diagram that shows where to test that the fuel pump triggering signal and the ignition triggering signal are acti...

Re: Abs issue

If by "could it have just pulled my abs" you meant could it have pulled on the wiring to the ABS sensor in the hub, then yes, that is possible. In fact, given the amount of damage that a delaminating tire can do and the coincidence with your incident, I would say it is likely. The ABS wiring to the ...

Re: seems to surge at low speed/ coming to a stop

Not sure what caused the surging, but I would also be concerned about this statement: "... and the vehicle started to slide, so I pushed the brakes to try to get the ABS to not allow locking up" The fact that your vehicle had "started to slide" means that the brakes were already locked. There is not...

Re: Rear Windshield washer line location - Leak/missing

Have you searched for a thread on this site about the rear window washer lines? I ask because I vaguely remember this topic coming up before and someone posting either the diagram or a link to the diagram of how the hose is run. You will need to find out how much of your rear hose remains and replac...

Re: Moog tie rod end torque spec?

I do not know for certain about this specific situation, but as a rule, most quality aftermarket parts (like Moog) are generally designed to be used in the same manner and with the same specs as factory parts.

Re: I think it's on its way out...

If that's the case, then you could have a trusted mechanic give the car a comprehensive inspection, that could certainly give you some piece of mind. Things can still break of course but that's true for any older vehicle. Those types of inspections are OK, but they will not tell you when the next f...

Re: I think it's on its way out...

We're strongly leaning toward a Flex to replace the TX, but that water pump keeps nagging me since the design is the same. So what did you replace the TX with if I may ask? We also had a 93 Prizm and drove that past 250k. Had to be able to tolerate the exhaust note since that thing cracked exhaust ...

Re: I think it's on its way out...

I agree. It's been a good car overall but its reliability has barely been average. Already been through several wheel bearings and an output speed sensor and tie rods and a dash vent air diverter, etc. Now this stuff. I drove a Prizm (Corolla clone) for 353,000 miles and until the day it died, I wou...

I think it's on its way out...

It's up to 141,000 miles and has now become more of a liability than anything else. Power steering rack is failing and it loses power assist frequently. Passenger side dash vents don't blow A/C or heat. Brake switch failed and brake lights are almost always on. Steady misfire due to failure of numbe...

You are correct. Freestyle Forum is a different forum.
