Are they locked? How many fuses did you check? There are 4, 2 in the battery junction box and 2 in the smart junction box.
agree, check that 'kid lock' button is not engaged.

Re: Failsafe mode now getting codes P0303, P061B and P2106

cylinder 3 could be a clue as it is closest to the EGR and any associated problems with the EGR itself or the back flow/clogging of the catalytic converter. You did not have any associated EGR codes with your misfire code so that's good. Since you have replaced plugs and coils before, maybe try swit...

Re: Control arm torque specs?

none of mine stayed in place. i stopped trying to shove them back in. they seem too soft to offer any real support, not sure what they are for. anyway, pushing 260,000 miles and drive it nearly every day

Re: Control arm torque specs?

Lower arm rearward bolt 111 lb-ft
Lower arm forward bolts (2) 73 lb-ft
Lower ball joint nut 85 lb-ft

i've replaced these twice over the years as they would fail safety inspections for play. you will need a 21mm open end wrench or crow foot as you can't get a socket over the lower ball joint nut.

Re: Need values for transmission temperature sensor

I sort of like where you are trying to go. However I don't believe it will work. The transaxle vehicle harness connector does not have individual transmission temperature sensor wires. The only pins it has are: can low, can high, diagnostic interface, switched positive key on, starter interlock, two...

Re: Filling/topping off transmission

The fluid all ends up in the pan no matter where you pour it in. For CVT, the tranny distick and fill hole are only a few inches apart. If you are accessing one, you have access to the other. The fill hole seems easier to me because the CVT dipstick tube is at a weird angle. Not sure for the 6 speed...

Re: Rear A/C Condenser

An independent shop or a/c specialty shop is probably your next option. Dealers deal in parts replacement, not parts repair. A quick search does show the part (sold as the entire auxiliary unit - heater core, evaporator and blower) as discontinued.

Re: No Gas Pedal Response-Car Will Not Move

i'll take a stab. P2104 TAC forced idle is a failure mode effects management (FMEM) mode and the PCM thinks something is wrong and is FORCING idle. So when the car is running, the PCM is limiting the movement of the butterfly. So what is telling the PCM something is wrong? Possible causes include: o...

Re: '05 FreeStyle 152K Rough Idle, Acceleration Lagging, Stalling

i would guess you have a hole/leak somewhere (lean codes)... check around the intake manifold above the egr (P0401). also check all air intake hoses and attached vaccuum hoses for proper fit. I you find a hole melted in the intake, your catalytic converter is clogged

Re: Aux questions. Did search, no luck

We successfully used an adapter with an RCA (red/white) plug on one end and 1/8" headphone jack on the other end. RCA to the dvd aux and 1/8"jack to the cell phone or ipod. Radio set to aux and the music is there. Small quirk, we do need to keep a dvd in the player for the system to recognize the au...

Re: 2005 Ford Freestyle Intermittently won't start

in my case the car would not turn over at all. it was as if the battery were dead...tap the starter and it would turn over. if your starter is turning the engine then no need to tap the starter. look elsewhere. turning over and no start can be a bit harder to track down. it has to be a problem with ...

Re: Intermittently won't start

ours was similar, random no starts. try tappping or rapping the starter next time you have a no start. the starter can be seen from the top of the engine, driver side. i placed a socket extension on top of the starter and tapped the extension with a hammer. you could use a screwdriver or other sturd...

Re: Did I make a mistake?

I agree with brad e here. My 2005 has 250,000 miles and I trust it with my kids using it every day. I have owned it since 75,000 miles. Any time I buy a used car I change ALL the fluids as a rule, simply for peace of mind and as a baseline for further service. If you can change the oil, you can drai...
