Re: Why No More Ford FFV?

Thanks for all the input, but the point that I was trying to make was, E-85 is currently available for flex-fuel vehicles, and Ford used to offer an FFV engine. It would be nice to have the option of paying up to a dollar less per gallon on occasion. To me, hybrids are an expensive, complicated gimm...

Why No More Ford FFV?

Ford used to have a flex-fuel V-6 available for Taurus, Ranger and some other models. In western Illinois/ eastern Iowa, E-85 runs anywhere from 60 cents to one dollar a gallon cheaper than 10% ethanol plus blend (which is cheaper out here than 87 octane regular). I'd love for my Freestyle to have a...

Re: Anyone elses button fall off of their dash compartment?

Only button problem on my 2007 so far is the driver's side map light switch. Anybody else? :|

Re: "Failsafe mode" & "Check Engine" light

Checking the service invoice on the megatronic unit/TCM assy. repair of my 2007 FWD SEL, under options it noted STK:P9013. Unknown if this is a separate piece or a newer designation for one of your failed parts. If different, this is more cause for my concern. Glad your dealer resolved the problem q...

Re: "Failsafe mode" & "Check Engine" light

Sounds like the same problem that I had this past week. Check out my post "Shout Out to Michael M and jcs" to compare. If the problem is the megatronics unit, and if your dealer service department is at all competent, you should have your Freebie on the road to recovery in no time. Good luck. 8)

Shout Out to Michael M and jcs

A shout out to the Forum, jcs, and Michael M. My newly adopted 2007 FWD SEL had wrench/engine light spasm at 16,000 miles. Was able to get it to the dealer, who quickly diagnosed the problem as a failure of the megatronic unit (sounds like a TRANSFORMER!).Problem solved within 48 hours. However, fea...

Re: What cars did we get rid of to get our Freestyles!!!

Traded a 2002 Ford Taurus SEL with leather, moonroof, Mach stereo system, 68,000 miles, and was getting 25 mpg on average. We moved to the country and needed something to haul stuff and grandkids when necessary. Tried the Taurus X but found it trucky and sluggish. A great salesman found a sage green...

Re: Ford Commerical

Glad to see someone else who was dismayed by that commercial. I just took possession of a 2007 Freestyle SEL, in spite of the "Vehicle For Broken Families" ad campaign. :(
