Re: Tranmission swap

I don't know why they didn't just use the 6 speed with the awd models they used it in the p2 and p3 Volvos with the same awd system yet ford went through the trouble of making the ptu different to work with the cvt. It honestly would have been cheaper for them just to use the same drive-train but wi...

Ford 500 awd CVT problems won't go over 15-20 mph

So I've been on this forum in the past and have been well aware of the cvt nightmares for years. Just as a little background we bought a 2006 ford five hundred limited awd in 2010 (my mom's car) with 60k miles on it 9 years later it now has 223k miles on it. I changed the tranny fluid at 200k and ch...

Re: Question about upper motor mount

I'm gonna be honest with you right now just change the whole mount it's $60 on amazon the money you will save isn't worth the frustration. My mom's 06 five hundred now has 221K miles so this mount has been done twice. https://www.amazon.com/Bracket-Anti-Roll-2005-2007-Freestyle-Transaxle/dp/B07733MN...

Re: Transmission Filter Change or Just Drain ?

I did the cvt fluid in my mom's 06 Five Hundred 20k miles ago (199,000 miles) honestly doing the pan filter was 2 days in hell first of all I used a aftermarket filter which caused some p0701 issues especially when it was cold, getting the pan gasket was a nightmare they had 1 in stock at a dealer 3...

Re: Ford Five Hundred Passenger side a/c warm (Dual zone hvac)

I just don't understand why it's still coming out ambient after replacing it unless the door is physically broken.

Re: Wrench Light!

If the transmission still does the same thing after changing the fluid I have a strong feeling it's the tss and oss sensors.

Re: Ford Five Hundred Passenger side a/c warm (Dual zone hvac)

I looked in the repair manual and it showed the driver's side blend door motor on the driver side along with the zone door motor and on the passenger side there's the passenger side blend door motor and the re circulation door motor.

Ford Five Hundred Passenger side a/c warm (Dual zone hvac)

Ok I've been ripping my hair out trying to figure out what the problem is with the A/C on the passenger side. I used a thermometer to get an Idea of the temperature difference the ambient temperature was 68, with the A/C on 60 the passenger side was showing 70°-62° if the compressor stayed on long e...

Re: I just bought one - Service Manual Question

I know it might seem kind of sketchy but I bought one from this website https://www.emanualonline.com/Cars/Ford/Freestyle/Ford-Freestyle-2005_2007-Workshop-Repair-Service-Manual-pdf.html and it's legit it's just a PDF download and it has dealer level info. Hope this helps. I uploaded it to my google...

Re: 200000 miles

My mom's Five Hundred has 216,000 miles. I'm fifteen now but we've owned it since 2010 with 60,000 miles so I haven't been able to maintain it perfectly, it's in rough shape but it's still going.

Re: 2007 ford freestyle help!!

I have a strong feeling it's the mecatronic unit in the transmission (Valve Body). I've heard this situation time and time again. The TCM is built into the valvebody and is very sensitive to dirty fluid.
