Correct Oil Drain Plug Replacement Part Number?

So confusing! Simple....just need oil drain plug replacement. For Dorman, I have 3 part numbers: 090-153.1 and 090153CD and 65385. For Needa, I have 2 part numbers: 653076 and 653096. For Volvo, it's 986833. Some vendors say some will fit....while others say it won't. Some say it's oversized...

Re: Oil Filter Too Big?

I had valvoline do an oil change on my wife's Freestyle years ago (winter and I didn't feel like changing it in the detached garage.) Once spring came around, I changed the oil and the filter was what you described - VERY small. I have pictures somewhere, but it had to be about 3/4 the size of the ...

Re: Oil Filter Too Big?

Strange. Is it possible the engine is not original or correct for the vehicle? Should have posted a picture side by side with the two filters so we can see... hindsight is 20/20.... If you have the right engine, the FL820S will work. You are correct! Really didn't look like it would. Went back to a...

Re: Oil Filter...Help!

And you cannot conceive that someone else put the wrong filter on? 820S is the correct filter. Yes, I can conceive that. What I cannot conceive is installing a filter that is 5" in diameter on a base that is 3 1/2". It would be very messy....not to mention using a qt. of oil every 5 minutes

No, didn't want to remove it before I got proper size. It was obvious it was too wide.

Re: Oil Filter...Help!

You should have put it on. Obviously the smaller filter isn't doing as good of a job. What brand and part number is the small filter? It wouldn't have worked. The diameter of the 820S is too wide. If it was just the length, it wouldn't be a problem. The small filter is some generic pos installed my...

Oil Filter Too Big?

First time post...& first time I attempted to do an oil change on my sisters 2005 Freestyle AWD....key word being "attempted!" According to official Ford website...& the sites of EVERY auto parts store, the correct oil filter is Motorcraft #FL-820S. Well, after purchasing this filter, & draining oil...
