Can anyone confirm if their temperature gauge normally sits at the halfway point? How long does it take your car to warm up in the winter (i.e. 20 degrees outside).

Thank you for the help. I'll take a look at it next weekend. Everything it needing some work on this car (170k miles). Need to do the front struts, thermostat, Haldex fluid change, alternator, and probably rear brakes. I've got a full docket of work!

Will the engineering mode remain on if I decide to start the car and drive it around? I'd like to see the temperature after I've been driving for 10 minutes or so.

RVAFreestyle, thanks. I'm likely to get a new pan, as my mechanic said there is also a hairline crack running from the plug area that would probably cause me trouble.

All, I'm 99% sure that it's time for me to change out the engine thermostat. It takes forever for the engine to get up to running temperature.
