Re: to keep or not? 2005 Ford Freestyle SE 65,775 miles

Mine is an '05 and has 137K miles on it and is still going strong. Granted, I could have an anomaly, but I would say keep it. My only complaints are not seeing the computer readout lights in the bright daytime and a broken seatbelt in the middle seat.

Question about upper motor mount

The upper motor mount on my Freestyle is shot. Almost no rubber, although the metal looks good. When I accelerate or brake, this causes a “clunking” sound. Obviously, I need to repair it before it does tear up all the metal and then the engine. AutoZone sells just the rubber insert, so my question i...

Re: 2005 Freestyle - How to remove passenger kick panel

I'll try this afternoon (have errands to run), but the sill plate looks like it goes back into the back door area.

Re: 2005 Freestyle - How to remove passenger kick panel

I hate it when this happens. I ask a question, get a good answer, but then when I try to do what the answer is, I have more problems. I do not see any way to remove the sill plate. Older cars used to have screws to hold them in, but this doesn’t. Do you have any suggestions for removing the sill pla...

2005 Freestyle - How to remove passenger kick panel

In my 05 Freestyle, if the passenger stretches just wrong and kicks the carpeting under the dash (I think it is called the kick panel) on the right-hand side of the car, the speaker in the back right side makes all sorts of staticky noises. Sometimes this will also turn the back speaker completely o...

Re: Rough idle after spark plug change

The current codes are: P0403, P0108, and P0406.
All the parts were Motorcraft.
The throttle body was all covered in gunk, so that's why I cleaned it.

Rough idle after spark plug change

I just changed my spark plugs because of a check engine light on that read the #2 plug was misfiring. Everything went pretty smooth (almost). Got the check engine light turned off, but it came back on after a couple blocks. Then the code was EGR solenoid circuit malfunction. I checked the EGR out an...

Dash lights WAY too dim

'05 Freestyle Limited I have 2 problems related to lighting. The 1st is that the dash lights are almost impossible to see except during a really dark night. They all appear to be working, just REALLY dim. The 2nd problem is the rear defroster light. It comes on for a split second when I push it, but...
