replacement tires

I replaced my tires at 38,000 with Yokohama Avid TRZ and it was a wonderful day. Now 10,000 miles later and no regrets. Very little tire wear, I check pressure monthly, rotate each 5,000. I paid $100.25 per tire, a bit more than you are paying off the internet. I registered the tires on line and pri...

steering noise

I had like noise at low speed turning and backing. Each oil/filter change I request the dealer to put some lub grease on the steering arm stops. That solved my problem. 2005 SEL Freestyle, 48,000 miles, brakes on rear redone at no charge at 22,000 miles before it became a known warranty item and my ...

steering noise

My dealer applies a small amount of grease to the steering arm stops on each oil change. This has taken care of my problem. Was more frequent in tight turning situations. Now no problem. A very simple fix. Try it.

Lubricate the steering arm stops at each oil change. I had the same problem. Dealer, Hilbish Ford, lubricated the stops and it went away. Now over 32,000 on my FS SEL and no problems. A great ride, good value, and suits my needs to a tee.

fill it up invert the handle

When the handle "clicks" off you can always put in an extra one or two additional gallons if you invert the handle. This fools the backflow shut off on the handle and you can slowly but surely fill the filler neck right up to the top. Many locations do not like for you to do that as if you are not c...

Dealer told you right

I think the dealer told you the truth. While you had your car serviced he no doubt topped off the fluids including the brake fluid. As pads wear on both the front and rear the amount of fluid is slightly reduced in the fluid holder thus when they added more fluid it seemed "tighter" which it actuall...

Have dealer lub the steering stops. Your clunking noise will go away. I agree there must be some problem with the rear brakes. Apparently too much pressure on the rear maybe needs more balance. Understand that TSB may be issued in near future.

22,000 rear pads gone, front still very good

Had car to dealer yesterday for lube, oil, filter and rotate tires. Serv. Mgr. wanted me to see the rear pads which were almost gone but had not yet damaged the rear rotors. Front pads still good. He asked if I drove with the parking brake on for a while without knowing it. I am the only driver, and...

Sirius Radio

Once you get Sirius Radio you will love it. I too was one that was bent on never paying for radio, but once I got it, it was most worthwhile. Being a news "junkie" I can get Fox News Channel etc. and for some lighter moments listen to comedy or various music. Its great on very long trips making the ...

find another Ford Dealer

If you purchase a Ford product and the manual says rotate the tires in a X or back to front then the dealership should conform to Ford published standards. I noted that my tires were rotated back to front instead of X-ed and when I asked the service manager he replied "that's the way we do it". When...

Sirius Satellite Radio

Ford printed material clearly states: "see your dealer for Sirius Radio information". However, dealers don't have anything to offer on the Freestyle. Sales and Parts at my dealership were both informed and finally sent me to an aftermarket installer where I had t...
