Re: Bank 1 Sensor 2, O2 sensor

Instead of a regular crows foot try an O2 sensor like this

Re: HOW-TO: Bypassing leaking factory trans cooler

A few problems with the OP's assertions. The transmission cooler is not prone to leak and the cost of the replacement is under $50. If you are taking the time to remove the front bumper and associated items then just replace the transmission cooler with OEM. The transmission fluid cooler is the sam...

Re: Bad smell after changing spark plugs

I think your theory involving to much dielectric grease makes sense especially if you used enough it overflowed the boot when the coil packs were installed on the plugs. The overflow could then burn off when in contact with the head. You can always see what the grease smells like when it burns by pu...

Re: Taurus X owners with high miles speak up! :-)

There are typically no visual signs to look for when inspecting a coil. Since premium gas has smoothed it out I suspect the coils are still ok.

Re: 2008 Ford Taurus X Transmission Issue

I did both TSS and OSS at the same time about 3yrs/100k miles ago and it was around $500-600.

Now at 251k miles and they are still behaving normally. (Knock on wood!)

Re: Taurus X owners with high miles speak up! :-)

I agree with spy 1309 and have done the same with mine as well as a few PTU fluid changes as mine is AWD. Current mileage is a little over 250k miles and it is still a smooth riding auto with lots of life left. :-)

Re: Random Brake Fluid Question

My only thought is it may have had ATE Super blue brake fluid which gets greenish when diluted with regular brake fluid.

Re: Recommended aftermarket trans cooler

If memory serves, the trans cooler portion of the ac condenser assembly is about the top 4" of the unit. Hope this helps.

Re: Battery Issue? 2008 Taurus X

I agree with webmaster. You can also just put a charger on it overnight to give it a full charge.

Nice find with the low miles. These are great cars and mine is now up to 247k+ miles so you should have a long road of driving ahead for yours. :-)

Re: AC Issues 2009 Taurus X

Problem with the air flow stopping through the vents sounds like your a/c is icing up. I had this happen on a Volvo Cross Country and it was a temperature sensor in the climate control system that had died.
