Re: Awd malfunction

Without hearing it, there could be a wheel bearing, angle gear, input shaft bearing, tire noise.

When does it occur?, does it change with speed, direction, loading, cold hot etc.

Re: Wiper Blade Replacement Passing Over Above Glass

Couple of things could be happening: 1. The spring is weak on the arm, it requires spring tension to put the blade to glass evenly. 2. The blade arm is not at the correct "rake" or angle to the glass, usually about 2 degrees. I actually have a tool to clip into place that has a protractor that you c...

Re: URGENT AWD differential different!

There was a change in Haladex units around that time when used in Volvo P2 cars (S60/V70/XC90).

So as the FD uses the same rear and AOD it stand to reason that the same is true here

Re: 08/09 ITCC ATC vs. 10-13

Do you have ever a scope to view waveform patterns on the PWM to see if there is signal degradation? As a shop foreman I once had one of my lackies chasing a long crank on a then new P2 Xc90 throwing every part in the book at it because the "pinouts" and. Breakout box readings all looked good. Hooke...

Re: Drivers Side backseat Latch

Are you sure it's the latch and not the release cable stuck in the open position?

Re: 08/09 ITCC ATC vs. 10-13

Why do you suspect the Haldex or rear different are bad? Most common failures are Haldex temp sensor, Haldex Control unit, or fluid loss in the rear

Re: 08/09 ITCC ATC vs. 10-13

I will admit I haven't been under a late model Taurus. But unless it uses the same Volvo P2 platform as the FS, Trex, Volvo V70/S60/V70xc then it's doubtful

Most vehicles employ this technology now. Most ford's post 2010 have battery run down protection.

Re: Just got a 2005 FS

I would change the CVT and HP filter with FoMoCo parts and fluid still. Then love every second of it. My 07 was 8.5 out of 10 when I got it and love it.

Re: CD Player Skips / Bad Disk Error

You can likely send the unit out for re-manufacture or simply buy a reman unit on ebay. Thats what I did on my last FS... which had display issues. My current one has no issues with the uplevel navi unit with 6 disc.

Re: Replacing Thermostat to Water Pump O-ring

I would advise not to use motor oil or grease as dependent on the material your parts supplier uses- may not be suitable for petroleum exposure.

What I like to do is take clean antifreeze and a gloved finger and coat the oring or silicone spray on a finger and lube it up.

Re: Stock subwoofer

That's one of the sunroof drains. Wow. Seems like a pretty terrible design. Good to know I reckon if my sunroof ever develops a leak. No that is not a terrible design- every car and truck that has a sunroof has a similar set up, using EPDM hose for the sunroof channel drains and almost all run the ...

Re: Reverse Lights Out

Chock the rear wheels or have an assistant put the car in reverse with the KEY ON ENGINE OFF. Test to see if the bulb sockets are getting power. If they are, test to see if there is a good ground on each socket. If everything checks out, replace both bulbs. (as weird as it sounds it has happened to ...
