Re: Keyless REMOTE entry - programming possible? website lin

Just bought a key off Ebay, had it cut at Home Depot, and used these instructions -- worked great thanks! Taurus X 2008 1. Close all doors and then open drivers door and press the UNLOCK button on drivers door panel while door is open and insert key in ignition. 2. Turn ignition from OFF to RUN 8 ti...

Transmission to be replaced on 2008 TX - other stuff too?

Hi All, My 2008 TX (purchased new in July 09) has 85,000 miles and the transmission exploded internally. The ford service rep says "something" broke inside, jammed into the oil cooler, pierced the oil cooler, drained the fluid, and finally killed the tranny. A couple of interesting points here: NOT ...

I did when I just bought my 2008 and had the small window replaced under warranty. Same issue with wind noise.

Re: Brakes

Check out rockauto.com. I put Raybestos premium lifetime rotors and Wagner pads. First on my 2007 freestyle and then on 2008 TX. Great products.

Re: HELP Front Caliper Rattling after brake job TX 2008

I double checked all mechanical connections. Bolts for the caliper retainer were torqued, bolts for caliper were torqued. The bolts don't have any spacers. It's crazy b/c there just aren't many parts. The two caliper bolts, the two caliper retainer bolts, and the new brake shoes. I can shift the cal...

Re: Help! Front Brake Caliper Rattles after brake job

I may have just figured it out. I used Wagner ThremoQuiet pads -- they do not use clips by design. So i think the floating nature of the caliper in the retainer, coupled with the fact that pads float more because they don't have clips, might cause the problem but wierd only on the right side.

Help! Front Brake Caliper Rattles after brake job

Hi All, I just completed a four wheel brake job, new pads and rotors all around and i bled the system. I am getting a rattling noise at the right front wheel. I took the front wheels off and could wiggle both calipers slightly which created the sound again so i know that's the source of the noise. I...

Fixed the broken steel plate. Two new photos added with fix. Threads were too thin to tap again so I am pop riveting the plates to the seat.

Re: Third row seat loading surface issue -- check your screw

Link to 8 photos. http://rides.webshots.com/album/583240052sFDcfQ I hope you'll be able to see the issue. 164 shows the fatigue failure of the steel mounting plate as well as the rounded out mounting hole. This is the tough fix. Thin material to mount a new plate on. Plus the plate looks thermally f...

Third row seat loading surface issue -- check your screws

Hi all, I would like to encourage all to check 4 little screws that can loosen and become a bigger issue. I noticed that the loading floor on my 2008 TX was sagging just a little bit in the middle. So I popped the loading floor loose from the front mount and folded them back. (Assuming you all have ...
