The "1" button has paint flaking off of it on my '05 FS. I wonder if this is covered by the warranty?

Extremely easy to change on the Freestyle. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver with a medium head and a 5 inch shaft. After removing the screws, use your hands to pull (pry) the taillight assembly away from its rubber gasket. Very stout. No worries of breaking. The bulb holders easily snap in and out...

PIE AUX and XM

I am a long-time XM listener, and a 2005 Freestyle Limited owner. I've tried various FM modulators, and I don't like any of them.

I've had a PIE in my posession now for several months, and have been too afraid to try the installation myself. But now I think I'm ready.

December, 2006 I ordered front and rear replacement speakers and installed them exactly as described by sweath in an earlier post this thread. These instructions are perfect. My installation of four speakers took 1 hour. I received the speakers from Crutchfield six months ago, and just today I insta...

I have never bought a car with a sun or moon roof. What's the point to it?
When you live with a beautiful climate, like Denver, the sunroof or moon roof is a wonderful way to see the mountains or stars during much of the year.

No, GPS units are not like satellite radio, etc. The maps are bundled with the unit, with no fees. The Magellan RoadMate series, for example, comes with the entire USA and Canada loaded. Other manufacturers do the same, but some units with less memory capacity may require you to load portions of the...

rowe001,

My Pirelli's had the same wear (scalloping) on the outside edges, and there was no alignment or inflation problem.

I replaced my tires with some Goodyears last week.

I use the Magellan RoadMate 700, which is portable and fits in the glove cubby on top of the dash.

Welcome to the board, cj7matt, Your story sounds similar to others on this board. The value of the Freestyle is very high, and many of us have traded in a bigger vehicle for it. Glad to have you blogging in with your viewpoints. Keep coming back for information about everything from performance to m...

Fun To Drive

I think the Freestyle is 'fun to drive' because of a great combination of features: 1) Smooth, no-lunge (CVT) transmission 2) Roomy interior with great visibility 3) Elegant dash (Limited) 4) MP3 player with text 5) Great gas mileage 6) Five-star safe After paying only about $28,000 for all this, I ...

Hey, Mister,

What, DRL's didn't help? :P

Check out how my Freestyle was in an accident earlier this year at http://www.myfordfreestyle.com/forums/v ... cident+bus

The Freestyle is cheaper to repair than you might think.

I have a family of four, all about 200 lbs. Our Freestyle gives us 22 to 26 MPG, gets us out of slippery spots in rain and snow, cools off in the hot Summer very quickly, and has a smooth, quiet ride.

Used to own Expedition, Blazer, Trooper, and Astro Van.

The Freestyle is our best car by far.

Don't know, but perhaps it is not a problem since the light in the cabin would presumably be dimmer, so it might be OK to dim the mirror.

Hey Mitch, Great story. Thanks. I had a terribly difficult problem with my Expedition electronics, and had to return it to the dealership many times during and after the warranty period. I was so happy with the dealership's service, that I bought my Freestyle from them. The service staff at this dea...
