2006 Freestyle SEL in Sonoma County

Finally letting go of the Freestyle, ended up replacing it with the Subaru Ascent.
Here's a link to the post, I'd be happy to give a decent discount to anyone on this forum.

Re: Shaking at stops

I'd say the TB issue is prevalent but not a huge issue. Cleaning them is fairly straight forward, there's youtube videos that walk you through it. Make sure you do the relearn procedure after you clean or replace it. Even buying a new one is fairly affordable and it makes a big difference in how the...

Re: Possible CVT Issue P0961

Ended up replacing the DEM and that took care of the codes. For now it doesn't seem that it was CVT related (this time). HOWEVER, i'm still getting the sensation that I'm going over mini speed bumps when turning and accelerating at slow speeds or going up hill. I don't want to spend any more time/mo...

Looks like this viewtopic.php?t=6015 is the route I'm taking. Hopefully the new DEM works out and fixes the issues. I'll post how it works out.

Possible CVT Issue P0961

My '06 FS had been running a little funny. It felt like a rear differential issue. Recently the check engine came on and I pulled a code P0961. From the forum it looks like this code usually comes with a handful of others. Pressure control solenoid A is what the designation seems to be. I'm wonderin...

Re: 2005 Freestyle Limited CVT slipping or engine problem

Maybe start by doing a throttle body cleaning and see if that helps. It's an easy cheap way to rule that out. Search the forum for symptoms of throttle body issues.

Re: Power Steering Whine

You can also use power steering fluid with conditioner which will seal up and leaks. I had the same issue with leaking fluid and that was the cheapest car fix I ever ran into

Re: Electrical Induced Check Transmission

Just a quick follow-up: I've continued to drive the vehicle as-is with no change in symptoms. My routine is to disconnect the battery overnight then reconnect the next morning, start up and drive away. As long as I don't shut off the engine the vehicle will perform perfectly all day. However, the i...

That's what I bought and used and everything has been golden ever since. I cleaned the TB with TB cleaning fluid a couple time but ultimately it needed to be replaced.

Throttle body is a very easy and relatively affordable fix. I'd start with that.

Re: 2007 freestar running rough

I'd start by cleaning the throttle body to rule that out. It's easy to do and the cause of many idle problems.

Re: Towing a Pop-Up Camper and Bike Rack

I was recently looking into the exact same thing. After towing my pop I realized that it would have been really nice to be able to bring our 4 bikes as well. I haven't bought it yet but this is what I found online.

Good luck.
