Re: What happens after CVT failure?

Hi Iparsons, I have to agree with the tow truck driver on this one; except for the noise, the systematic shut down of various electrical systems is what happens when the alternator stops charging. If you had described the noise as a whining or something similar I would even say, that lines ups. I ha...

Re: Front wiper blades 2005 Ford Freestyle

His Steve, Does the passenger side wiper arm continue to move? Assuming that it does, since you did not mention that it had stopped as well. Can you hear anything binding up, as if the drivers side arm is trying to move but can't? A couple of things come to mind off hand. First the assembly that con...

Re: Anyone With An Aftermarket Double Din Stereo?

Hi Rob, While there is a pretty good chance that most Double Din stereos will fit, there is a chance it will not fit do the physical size/layout of the unit. There are variables, such as the proximity of HVAC duct work, internal brackets, room for wiring, etc., that could limit the maximum depth of ...

I'm not sure how much help the information in the link below will be, and, perhaps, you have already seen this. At the very least, it leads you to believe there is a known issue that has an associated TSB. The info regarding the code and TSB is in the 3rd reply. https://www.justanswer.com/ford/0s5yy...

Hi BillRod, The forum thread below outlines some of the specifics around replacing the scroll/compressor control value: https://www.myfordfreestyle.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4329 If you do a forum, or even Google, search you will find plenty of additional information. There several videos on YouTub...

Re: Changing the Power Steering belt on a Taurus X

Hi Joe, If you are looking for the Ford/Motorcraft part number, the best thing to do is look it up on fordparts.com. You can either search by the year/model/engine/trim or enter your VIN number. This may not be the case with your Taurus X, but I can say from experience that Ford has a tendency, over...

Re: Did I make a mistake?

Hi DanyLee1977 and JimMc, There is A LOT of good information on this site regarding the CVT, it's upkeep and reliability. The best place to start is to search out that information. You may get a fair number of responses to this post, but the answers will never begin to give you the breadth and depth...

Re: I'm new, Limited vs SEL

Hi donald402, Your best bet for determining the differences in features/packages/trims is to take a look at the old brochures from Ford online. There were variations in the trim levels and packages year over year; for example there was no SE trim offered in 2007, so a 2007 SEL can be a very base veh...

Re: Wiper pump still not working... argghh

Hi Freestylininon, My first check would be to disconnect the electrical connector at the pump and to check for current (when the switch is activated) at the connector using a multimeter or test light. That will tell you if the problem is at the pump or back upstream. If there is current at the conne...

Re: interior lights

Hi BSKansas, Assuming, as mmsstar indicates with his question, you have worked through all of the simple solutions; and it seems that you have; the next step would be to use a multi-meter and/or test light to check for current at various points along the circuit. I believe AllData; which is availabl...

Were you working near the glove box? It looks similar to the "glove box door check". Check the FordParts.com diagram, it is part number 06102.
