Re: Changing headlight assembly

Maybe I have misunderstood what you are attempting to do. My understanding of what you stated above is that you are hoping to slide the entire headlight assembly from a 2004-2008 F150 into the headlight opening on a 2004-2006 Freestyle, correct? If that is your goal, it will not work. As you stated,...

Re: Changing headlight assembly

Hi Dyladog1890,

I happen to have both a Freestyle and that generation of F150.

Totally different headlight units, no way it will work.

Sorry,

It’s worth your time to watch both parts of this YouTube video if you are going to investigate a possible throttle body/position sensor issue.

Re: TC and ABS lights w/ brake pedal, not starting

Hi suziandmikec, Don't rule out the battery. I have four Ford vehicles, and the symptoms they have exhibited when the battery is low on power/out and reinstalled are unlike anything I have ever experienced with any other car I have ever owned. Things that, at first glance, would not seem to have any...

Re: windshield wiper fluid not spraying

Hi Ryan, I will second what Scotty said, check for a clog. If you are certain there isn't a clog, I would then pull the Packard Connector and make sure there is current going to the pump, before buying a new pump. If you are certain it is the pump, you can buy one on Amazon, eBay, NAPA, etc. Even at...

Re: How common are the CVT issues?

Hi jscharf, Welcome to the forum! I will cut to the chase on this one: While the Freestyle can be a great vehicle, reading between the lines of your question and comments, I have to say it isn’t the vehicle for you. While I personally don’t believe the CVT is any more unreliable overall than any num...

Re: Rear DVD/ game system in headrest

Try searching Eonon L0237 Headrest DVD Player on Google, that appears to be what you have. Several videos on YouTube. https://www.google.com/search?q=eonon+l0237+headrest+dvd+player&rls=com.microsoft:en-US&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwirmYCH78bdAhVhRN8KHcDaArEQsAR6BAgEEAE&biw=1920&bih=...

Re: Rear DVD/ game system in headrest

Hi Homerdepo, That looks like a nicely installed (perhaps even dealer installed) aftermarket unit, but definitely not the factory DVD set-up. See the bottom right corner of page 2 in the PDF linked below, the factory unit is shown there. Brad http://www.auto-brochures.com/makes/Ford/Freestyle/Ford_U...

Re: Drivers side rear door handle

Hi Homerdepo, If you do a search on Google for "ford freestyle door handle" and "ford freestyle door handle removal" you will find a number of links and videos; including some to this forum (I suppose you could do a forum search here as well); that provide lots of good information on what is going o...

Re: Rear DVD/ game system in headrest

Hi Homerdepo, I am almost certain that the entertainment system installed in your Freestlye is an aftermarket unit. The factory installed DVD systems had a single center mounted screen, not a screen(s) mounted in the headrest. Your best bet is to try to locate the model number or serial number on th...

Re: Steering Rack question

Hi Ted, I may be off base here, but, have you looked at the Intermediate Steering Shaft? I seem to recall that topic being discussed on the forum before. And while I don't have any experience with the Intermediate Steering Shaft on a Freestyle/Taurus X, I did have one fail on a newer F-150, and it v...

Re: What happens after CVT failure?

Hi Iparsons, I have to agree with the tow truck driver on this one; except for the noise, the systematic shut down of various electrical systems is what happens when the alternator stops charging. If you had described the noise as a whining or something similar I would even say, that lines ups. I ha...

Re: Front wiper blades 2005 Ford Freestyle

His Steve, Does the passenger side wiper arm continue to move? Assuming that it does, since you did not mention that it had stopped as well. Can you hear anything binding up, as if the drivers side arm is trying to move but can't? A couple of things come to mind off hand. First the assembly that con...

Re: Anyone With An Aftermarket Double Din Stereo?

Hi Rob, While there is a pretty good chance that most Double Din stereos will fit, there is a chance it will not fit do the physical size/layout of the unit. There are variables, such as the proximity of HVAC duct work, internal brackets, room for wiring, etc., that could limit the maximum depth of ...
