Re: Heated Seat Repair Help

Excellent to see this is helping. 2 years later and the seat is still toasty warm. No degradation in the foam or leather whatsoever. I also reused the old hog clips. Cheers agin, Bruce

Re: Just got a new Freestyle... BUT...

Wheel bearing vote here too. Spent a bunch of time and worry thinking our tranny. Turned out to be the right rear bearing. Two shops missed it and it was the tranny shop that found it ironically!

Replaced May '14, no sounds at all since.

Re: 2006 Freestyle vibration above 60

Congrats... I vote for balancing issue. Have a decent shop rebalance with a load force balancer if the vibration shifts when you rotate... Front to back of course! :-)

Re: Fuel level/range minimum change?

I have had this happen three times now... Most recently last weekend. Was down to about 50km range and did a total fill. Started driving and needle just below half and range about 280. Over the next hour or so of driving it copame back up and is fine now. Dunno quite what happens but I think I concu...

Re: Hello all!

Welcome, you'll probably need to re-route the rear sunroof drain tubes if the tray around the sunroof is clean. I got the $800-1000 story from the Ford dealer here in Victoria after a $200 diagnostic (they are so full of 'stories' I will not buy another Ford from the group) that the drains were bloc...

Re: Rust in floor pan

I have to second webmaster's comment. A lot of design goes into these cars now to drain-away collecting water and prevent rust areas. Most times these rust-proofing, money-grabbers play on people's fears (I think now cars last longer against rust than people own them for) and it gets sprayed on haph...

Re: Cabin fan will not turn off, fan no speed control

YEP, got this part in Las Vegas last week, installed yesterday and all is fine. Saved over $100 by buying this down there than the cheapest I could find in Canada... that's simply crazy. Climate control and fan control back in operation. Thank goodness we have the rear heat during this time, LOL!

Re: 2007 Freestyle rear air/heat

I think that you're experiencing normal behavior here. The only heat to come from the rear comes only from under the rear left 2nd row seats. Nothing comes from the overhead except when on cool. The rear overhead controls are quite misleading actually as mine do not control the heat when you rotate ...

Re: Cabin fan will not turn off, fan no speed control

So, I did a search in the F150 forums to find this part 9L3Z-19E624-B Fan Control Module to be quite the regular failure in Fords. Really easy to get to under the Glove box with removal via two 8mm screws. Pulled it out, no front fan but at least I have rear auxiliary heat and some flow from front w...

Cabin fan will not turn off, fan no speed control

Hi Gang, searched the forums to no info; perhaps one of you know better. For no reason (like usual I guess) the Climate control fan started blasting very high. I went to turn off the system and it will not turn off but actually even blasts louder and stronger. Blending vent works for directing flow,...

Re: Can this noise indicate a bad transmission?

Our rear right wheel bearing made the same noise I was sure and a few shops tested for wheel bearing noise and suggested tranny. I had the same question about neutral as well but I guess our CVTs still spin with the wheels. Well, I was not so sure it really was more than a bearing even when rocking ...

Re: Subwoofer test

Well, I see no bites on this so tackled it myself yesterday. Confirmed power unit on sub not working as sub itself (speaker) was fine. Found a loose solder joint on the circuit board which was not visible and resolve red it. Works fine again and saved $259 in the part!

Subwoofer test

Hi gang, any quick way to test if it is working? When I power the radio up we get a lot of static like the old days when dust got on the volume of your stereo volume knob from the back of the car.... Sounds like rear right. When you sit back there we feel nothing nor hear anything. Suggestions pleas...

Re: Oil change procedure or tips

Hey gang, what an easy car to do an oil change on. Wow. Problem is I am concerned about the oil I put in: was sold and used castrol GTX. Castrol says I should have used their edge product. Is there anything I should be worried about here? Brijack, great tip for the 6th quart use! This is a tip too f...
